Demon Buddy Follower is a cute little demon riding on a magical cloud, following your avatar wherever you go, with animated rain and thunder effects! 🌧️⚡

The Demon Buddy, rain particles, and thunder particles feature Hue Shift, allowing you to customize their colors and match them with your avatar.

📦 Installation

Requirements

• Poiyomi Toon 10.0.22
• VRCFury 1.1429.0
• PC VRChat avatar

These are the versions used to create and test the asset. Newer versions of Poiyomi and VRCFury should also work, but compatibility with newer versions is not guaranteed.

Setup

1. Import Poiyomi Toon into your Unity project.
2. Import VRCFury.
3. Import the Demon Buddy Follower package.
4. Open your VRChat avatar.
5. Drag and drop the Demon Buddy Follower prefab directly into your avatar's hierarchy.
6. VRCFury will automatically handle the necessary integration when you upload your avatar.

That's it! No complicated manual setup is required.

🌧️ Rain & Thunder Particle Note

When you first add the prefab to your avatar, the rain and thunder particles may not appear immediately in the Unity Editor.

This is normal and does not mean that the particles are broken.

If you want the particles to appear in the Unity Editor before uploading your avatar, click once on:

Demon Buddy Follower By TONYHook → World Constraint → Follower Constraint → Demon Buddy → stormparticles

You can then check the particle position and appearance directly in the Unity Editor.

🎨 Customization

The Demon Buddy, rain, and thunder effects include Hue Shift customization.

You can adjust their colors to match your avatar or create your own unique style.

📜 Terms of Use

You MAY:

• Use Demon Buddy Follower on your personal VRChat avatars.
• Customize the Demon Buddy, colors, effects, and settings for your avatar.
• Use Demon Buddy Follower as part of a finished VRChat avatar that you sell or distribute commercially.

You MAY NOT:

• Resell Demon Buddy Follower itself as a standalone asset.
• Redistribute, share, upload, or give away the original Demon Buddy package, prefab, or included Demon Buddy assets.
• Include the original Demon Buddy assets in another Unity package, asset pack, follower pack, or downloadable product.
• Extract and redistribute the original Demon Buddy assets separately from a finished avatar.
• Claim the original Demon Buddy assets as your own.
• Create and redistribute a competing standalone follower product using the original Demon Buddy assets.

💰 Commercial Avatar Use

You ARE allowed to use Demon Buddy Follower in a finished VRChat avatar that you sell or distribute commercially.

Example:

Demon Buddy Follower
→ integrated into your finished VRChat avatar
→ finished avatar sold to a customer
→ ALLOWED ✅

However, the original Demon Buddy package, prefab, textures, models, or other original Demon Buddy files must not be provided to the customer separately or redistributed outside of the finished avatar.

Demon Buddy Follower uses a modified version of the follower system from Among Us Follower by hfcRed.

The follower system is licensed under the MIT License. The original MIT License and copyright notice are included with this package.

The Terms of Use above apply to the original Demon Buddy assets created and provided by TONYHook. They do not restrict rights granted by applicable third-party licenses.
