Japanese Bonsai - Shimpaku Juniper with White Deadwood (Shirotae) | VRChat World Prop

A Japanese-style bonsai 3D prop for VRChat worlds and homes.

This one is a shimpaku juniper in the informal upright (moyogi) style. A broad band of

shari - deadwood bleached white by decades of weather - runs the full height of the

S-curving trunk, and the living reddish-brown vein that still feeds the tree climbs right

beside it. White and red-brown sit side by side on a single trunk, with the foliage pads

settling above them like an open parasol. It is named "Shirotae", an old Japanese word

used to praise a pure, delicate white.

What was generated by AI:

The base 3D mesh and its base-colour texture were generated with Meshy, an

image-to-3D AI tool. The input was a reference image of a bonsai that we prepared

ourselves; no third-party artwork or scanned model was used as input.

What was done by hand, without AI:

Retopology and decimation to a VRChat-friendly triangle budget, removal of unwanted

geometry, material setup, scaling to real-world size, prefab construction,

multi-angle quality inspection, product photography and packaging.

Rights basis:

The model was generated under a paid Meshy plan, which grants full commercial and

resale rights to the output. Meshy states that its models are trained on legally

obtained, properly licensed data.
